Harnai Beach Ride - A Simple Adventurous Journey

                  We four riders started our 'Sunday Ride' journey in the early morning at 6.30 AM from Nagothane, towards our destination. We ride on Mumbai-Goa Highway (NH-66). we wanted to reach at Kashedi ghat first for breakfast as soon as possible. but the road condition of NH-66 is horrible, because of bad roads, construction work, potholes, and not proper signs and it killed our time.

 and finally, we reach our breakfast spot at top of Kashedi ghat for famous 'vada-misal' and 'tea'. after breakfast feels good, and the atmosphere also good. and ghat section also adventurous, the surrounding area of greenery, mountains make this ride more adventurous. After a beautiful drive we reach at Harnai Beach by 11.30 AM after the ride we decided to explore the beach and surrounding area and click pictures and shoot some drone footage to explore the beach from the top view. 

after 30-45 min of exploration, we decided to go for lunch. we got a good place for lunch near the beach 'Nisarg Sea View Resort'. We order some special local dishes  " Surmay Fry, Special Poha  Prawns Fry, Paplet Fry and Chikan Handi with Roti and Rice and some cold-drinks and after this heavy meal, we took some rest for one and half hour. "If you visite kokan and you did not test local food than you miss the test of your journey"  

*Note- Lunch and Dinner only get confirmed after order. and the order has to be placed at least a couple of hours in advance

and we start return journey towards our home. we take the same route for the return journey and also we visit famous pan shop for famous sweet pan as well as other products like Amla Juice, Pickles, Dry-Fruits and many more. we all purchase some products and also enjoy the test of the pan. and after spend half-hour, we return to start our journey towards home. 

before reach and starting point ( Nagothane) of our journey, we decided to stop for Tea brake at Chakan Phata.and after half we leave and from Chakan Phata we all reach our home in one hour.

About Harnai Beach, Dapoli 

Harnai is a small village situated at a distance of 15 kms from Dapoli. The village is very famous for two things: Harnai beach and Harnai fort. The Harnai beach is a long beach with a peaceful environment. The beach is lined with Harnai fort on its northern end. Harnai beach is one of the most favorite beaches for people from Pune and Mumbai. People visit the beach to spend weekends and enjoy nature. The harnai port is also famous for fishing. Hundreds of fishing boats hunt fishes in the Arabian sea from harnai beach and return in the evening every day. The fishermen also auction the fishes catched. As the beach has good number of tourists, the market is always full with foodies. These fishes include Pomfret, kingfish, mackerel, white jumbo prawns, lobsters, squids, etc.

Harnai beach is also called as Maharshi Karve Beach since Maharshi Karve’s birth place is Dapoli. The beach is filled with water sport lovers, bird photographers and bird watchers. The reason is that Harnai beach has variety of beautiful birds. The water sports has paragliding, water bikes, banana rides, etc.
